Adventure Junkies: Building a Business with Pictures

Ghana may be endowed with a lot of natural resources but one thing that we don't talk about is our tourist sites which has a potential of bringing in needed revenues for the nation. Most people are of view that it is the duty of Ghana Tourist Authority's to show case Ghana as a #touristDestination and changing the name from Ghana Tourist Board to #Ghana Tourist Authority has not improve things either. Personally, the focus should be on promoting local #tourism not internationals.

Aside the few trips (excursions)  that we took as children in school, there has not been much of group traveling outside one's locality except for funeral but that don't count as it is only from the residence, to the funeral ground, the burial site and then back.

There has been a lot of attempts by tour agencies to organised tour/trips, but the focus has always been on forigners with little participation of locals also  again little or no attention is put on making use of pictures or videos of those trips as a means of advertising except those put on the web by individuals.

Adventure Junkies is an innovative, entertaining and retro group of like minded travelers and adventurers as stated on their website. It is the brain child of three young Ghanaians, kofii Ampomah, Jason Blagogee and Kwaku Dovlo who turned their passion for traveling and exploring the beautiful sights of Ghana into a business. Their  goal is to promote adventureous and fun tourist sites of Ghana at the same time giving tourist the opportunity to interact with people who live in the area

What makes Adventure Junkies stands out is their ability to show people high quality pictures and videos of their various trips on their social media and website, as well as their well planned publicized tour schedules, which is something other tourist firms in the country should learn.There is a saying "pictures speaks  thousand words" hence the need to take pictures to document every moments of our lives.

Adventure Junkies, which started it's operations in February 2012, has had its fair share of difficulties but just like every passionate and hard working #entrepreneurs they have been able to pull through it all, they are not there yet, as their vision is to eventually be a global leader in providing tour services in Ghana and Africa at large, as well as facilitating African clientele in organizing trips around the world.
